We stayed in a cabin at the Bryce Canyon Lodge which is situated right on the edge of the canyon. The main building was in the arts and crafts style with a cedar shingle roof and a fireplace so large that you could park a VW beetle in it. It was right up our alley.

Here we are at the highest point on our entire trip. There was even a bit of snow left.
After several stops and a few short hikes at view points Viola had enough.
The drive on HWY 12 from Bryce up to Capitol Reef is one of the most beautiful drives in America. Unfortunately our camera battery died about an hour into it so we only have a few photos to show for it. There was also an Aspen forest, a hill covered in round black volcanic rock, and we drove the "devil's backbone." This all made Viola very tired.
